Chris has many years of training in obstetrics and women's health. He is the latest to join Oxford Women's Health's team of obstetricians.
Having completed his medical studies at the University of Otago in 2002, he has most recently been a registrar at Christchurch Women's Hospital - a role he took up in 2008, after obstetrics and gynaecology training at hospitals in Palmerston North and Hawke's Bay. Prior to his time in the North Island, he also completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Women's Health through the University of Otago.
Chris has a special interest in intrapartum obstetrics, ranging from promotion of normal labour and birth to optimal management of emergencies. He has widely acknowledged expertise in operative vaginal delivery.
Chris and his wife, Sharon, are from Christchurch and have two young sons.
Having been back in Christchurch for several years, Chris has an excellent relationship with many local midwives and is passionate about providing care to promote the best experience and outcomes for expectant mothers. He especially looks forward to forming a trusting and confident relationship with pregnant women and their families.
