Physiotherapy is a broad specialty covering a variety of health conditions. At Oxford Women's Health, we are lucky to have the services of Niamh Clerkin, a physiotherapist who specialises in women's pelvic health.
Certain areas, such as the treatment of urinary incontinence and pelvic floor prolapse, require a special skillset, which only some physiotherapists possess. Through examination, evaluation, diagnosis and physical intervention, using tailored exercise programmes, Niamh is able to treat a wide range of patients.
If you are having or have had major surgery, Niamh may also be involved in pre-operative and/or post-operative programmes, which help you to get moving again and optimise your recovery. Pelvic floor therapy can also be arranged after childbirth.
