Physiotherapy is a broad specialty covering a variety of health conditions. At Oxford Women's Health, we are lucky to have an experienced team of pelvic health physiotherapists who specialise in women's pelvic health.
The specific demands of addressing women's pelvic health issues, such as the treatment of urinary incontinence and pelvic floor prolapse, requires a special skillset, which only some physiotherapists possess. Through examination, evaluation, diagnosis and physical intervention, using tailored exercise programmes, they treat a wide range of patients.
If you are having or have had major surgery, our team may also be involved in pre-operative and/or post-operative programmes, which help you to get moving again and optimise your recovery. Pelvic floor therapy can also be arranged after childbirth.
We hugely value the expertise of our pelvic health physiotherapists and the contribution they make to our multi-disciplinary gynae team.
